Help & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about number plates β€” answered clearly and honestly.

Your Plates

Will my plates be printed in all capital letters?

Yes! You may receive a confirmation email that shows lower case letters in the text description β€” this can happen if you entered lower case letters when building your plates (a glitch we are working on).

All plates are printed using capital letters regardless.

Why is there small text under my plate?

This isn't an advertisement. It's a legal requirement to have the manufacturer's name and postcode on licence plates.

Why does my plate look green?

Never a silly question! We add a protective film layer over the front of all of our plates to protect them in transit. This can give the look of a darker or greenish plate.

Please peel off the removable front protective film. A little heat from a hairdryer will help you find an edge of the cover.

Can I get a green EV number plate?

All modern number plates are yellow on the rear and white on the front. If you would like a number plate with a green EV flash, yes β€” you can get one of these from us. Please find them in the plate sizes menu.

Are borders road legal on UK number plates?

Yes, borders are road legal and can be added via the plate builder.

Do we pre-drill holes in the plates?

No, we don't. Some customers prefer no holes and use sticky pads for a really clean look. There are also far too many variants in placement across different vehicles.

No plate seller pre-drills number plates. We send a comprehensive fitting instructions email to you after purchase which will help with all your plate fitting questions.

Can I have my own slogan and the legal details?

Unfortunately this is no longer allowed under current regulations.

Yes! Please contact our sales team and we can provide you with a quote.

Registration & Legal

How should I space my registration?

For the correct format you should only add one space to your registration, in the correct location. If you choose the "Legal Plates" option on the builder, it will automatically space your plates correctly.

Please refer to your V5 log book and existing number plates. Examples:

  • Correct: AB21 AAA
  • Incorrect: AB 21AAA β€” AB 21 AAA β€” AB21AAA

Note: To mis-space or mis-represent digits on number plates is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Registration & Licensing) Regulations 1971.

Typing errors and typos β€” what happens?

When you type your order in our builder it will appear exactly as you type it, so please carefully check the spacing. We can offer no compensation or reprints due to typing errors on your behalf.

A warning pop-up automatically appears if you don't add a space to your registration, and you must click/tick the accept box to progress. The production team will not check your spacing against the original order, so please take care when entering your registration.

Can I cancel my order?

Your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place it and doesn't end until 14 days from the day you receive your goods.

However, there are some orders where you won't have the right to cancel. These include items that are bespoke or personalised. Made-to-order number plates are a bespoke item β€” therefore we are unable to offer a full refund, but we can refund the cost of your postage, accessories, and fitting kits.
